PFLEGE & REINIGUNG
Ruby Cup is a healthy, high-quality, cost effective, and eco-friendly menstrual cup made from 100% medical grade silicone, and reusable for up to 10 years.
Menstrual cups are used and loved by people all around the world, and are favoured as the most environmentally sustainable and healthy menstrual care product.
Comes in size small and medium. Many people will be able to comfortably wear both sizes. However, the larger size is generally recommended after giving birth or after age 30-35.
How it works:
Insert the cup by folding it and pushing it into the vagina. Don't push it up like a tampon.
Holding the base of the cup with your index finger and thumb, twist it around in a circle. If it turns easily and smoothly, the cup has likely opened properly. If it's difficult to turn, then it probably hasn't popped open fully, in which case remove it and try again.
Menstrual cups sit inside the lower vagina, creating a suction seal around the vaginal walls, and collecting your menstrual flow instead of absorbing it (which is great, because it won't dry out the vaginal tissues!).
When the cup is full, simply grab the cup's base and pull it out. Empty, rinse and re-insert.
The Ruby Cup normally needs emptying between 1-3 times a day depending on the heaviness of your flow.
Why Ruby Cup?
What makes Ruby Cup different from other menstrual cup companies is its social mission. When you buy a Ruby Cup, you're directly supporting Ruby Cup's menstrual cup distribution and education/training programs.
Specificaly, when you buy a Ruby Cup, you donate another cup to a school girl in East Africa, providing access to high quality, sustainable and healthy menstrual care.
The dedicated folks at Ruby Cup work closely with communities, schools, girls clubs, community-based organisations, and NGOs to provide menstrual cups in areas with less access to menstrual hygiene products.
Ruby Cup works mostly in Kenya, but also has local partners in Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, and Uganda. Check out the company's website to read more about Ruby Cup's "Buy one, give one" programme and to see the positive impact their work is having on people's lives.
