„Ancestral Ties“ is an art project that fuses ritual and bondage. The prints are based on photography and collages, merging traditional elements and contemporary rope practices. The exhibition is a celebration of the richness of Afrodiasporic and African queer existence, that is rooted in the fluidity and gender expansiveness of the ancestors. The project goes beyond reclaiming bondage as a decolonize tool, towards connecting with precolonial practices.
