Cock Rings

Cock rings are worn around a penis (or dildo), behind the scrotum or at the base of the shaft.

When used on a real penis, cock rings slow blood flow out of the erection, often making it feel more sensitive. Using a cock ring can also prolong an erection.

Some cock rings also have a vibrator or textured surface attached to the ring, designed for couples to use together. The ring fits around a penis, dildo, or fingers for penetration while the vibe/texture provides stimulation to the clit, perineum or balls.

Where to wear

Cock rings are often more effective when worn around both the shaft and the testicles; however, your own personal comfort level is your best guide. If you're new to cock rings, you might want to start with a stretchy or adjustable ring, like the Tantus Super Soft C-Ring, that's easier to put on and take off.

Finding the right size

If you want to use a firm or less stretchy ring, it's a good idea to measure your penis first so you can buy a ring that fits comfortably.

First measure the circumference of the penis behind the balls (you can use a piece of string to make this easier). Because cock rings are normally sized according to diameter, divide the circumference by 3,14 to get the diameter measurement.

If you opt for a non-stretchy or non-adjustable ring, make sure the ring size is no smaller than your penis diameter.

If you're worried about getting the right size, you might want to consider an adjustable design, such as the Kinky Vegan Cock Strap or Buddy Toyfriend.

Putting the ring on and taking it off

While stretchy or adjustable rings can easily go on an erect penis, firmer/non-adjustable rings usually go on the body when the penis is flaccid or semi-erect. The easiest way to put these rings on is to slide one testicle through the ring followed by the other, and then slide the shaft of the penis through. If you're having difficulty, try adding some lube.

Taking cock rings off is easy if they're stretchy or adjustable. For other rings, you'll want to allow your erection to go down enough before removing the ring. Stop engaging in any particularly arousing behaviour, relax, and when your body is ready, slide the ring off. It can sometimes be a bit difficult to lose a hard-on while wearing a cock ring. To minimize an erection, you can try running your penis under cold water.

Safety and comfort

The recommended wearing time for cock rings varies depending on the fit of the ring. Tighter rings probably shouldn't be worn on a flesh-and-blood penis for more than about 20 minutes. Worn more loosely, this time can be extended. Just remember that they restrict blood flow and can cause damage to blood vessels if worn for prolonged periods. So don’t fall asleep wearing one!
