Join us for an evening of readings and conversation to celebrate the launch of Berlin-based writer and translator Saskia Vogel’s debut novel “Permission”.
In their Most Anticipated Books of 2019 list, LitHub said:
“If Joan Didion had written about the BDSM community in LA it may have felt a bit like “Permission” … When Echo’s father dies in a freak accident, grief pulls her under like a rip curl into a world of art models, dominatrixes and sex workers.”
After reading passages from Permission (Dialogue Books/Coach House Books), Saskia will be joined by Paulita Pappel, sex-positive, feminist pornographer, film producer, performer and director. Saskia and Paulita will talk about the art of representing sex and power, taking questions from, and inviting discussion with, the audience.
Copies of Permission will be available to buy and have signed by the author..
Doors at 6:45pm / Starts at 7:00pm.

Join us for the launch party of FOOL’S JOURNEY—a collection of poetry based on the Major Arcana of tarot, with cards designed by 22 incredible female and/or queer artists! Jane Flett will be reading weird witchy poems from the book and there will be some very special tarot-themed stories from Dan Ayres and Sharon Mertins. Some of the artists will also be present and we’ll have a Q&A to chat more.
Jane Flett is an over-excitable pervert and odd witch. She features in the Best British Poetry anthology and her work has been translated into Polish, Croatian and Japanese. Jane is one half of the riot-grrrl band Razor Cunts and a founder of Queer Stories Berlin.
Copies of Fool's Journey and sets of tarot cards will be available to buy.
Doors at 6:45pm / Starts at 7:00pm.

Rae Spoon is an award-winning non-binary musician and author. They have released nine solo albums spanning folk, indie rock and electronic genres and have toured across Canada and internationally.

Einlass: 18:30 Uhr / Beginn: 19 Uhr.
